So, what is Hungry Bark? It’s a great affiliate marketing business opportunity, that’s what.

And today I’m going cover what’s available to you as an affiliate for Hungry Bark. I’m going to cover how you join, the commission you can earn, the products and so on.

Who’s Behind Hungry Bark?

Hungry bark is a dog food company that focuses on providing dogs with custom nutrition plans. It was founded by Nick Molina in 2019. And is based out of Florida.

Now the way this company got its start is pretty interesting. You see for years Nick struggled to turn his health around. Something many people can relate to.

And it wasn’t until he started working with the certified nutritionist who evaluated his specific needs based on his health and his lifestyle and then mapped out a specific eating plan just for him.

And when he started following this specific eating plan that was designed just for him that’s when he saw a dramatic change in his health.

Now being a dog lover that got into thinking. It’s obvious that people need specific nutritional needs.

And having two rescue dogs himself (Shorty and Barkley). And each being a different breed of dog. He was convinced each would need their own specific diet tailored just for them to be the healthiest they could be.

So, he started consulting with pet nutritionists and veterinarians. And that’s when he started providing dogs with custom nutritional plans.

Not only does he provide these custom nutritional plans he does have premium dry dog food, treats and what he calls mix in toppers as well.

Ok, let’s take a look at the products.

The Hungry Bark Products

Now, you don’t have to get a customized meal plan if you don’t want to. But with that said I did go through their quiz related to my dog just to see what they would suggest and how much things would cost.

So, to get your customized food plan you simply go through a quiz will ask you about your dog, the breed of your dog, the age of your dog and then the things that you’re looking to help your dog with.

So, you’re asked questions like, is your dog overweight, is your dog at its ideal weight now? Is it allergic to anything? Are there foods your dog doesn’t like and so on.

So, I have a mini dachshund and I simply went through the quiz and answered the questions.

And here’s the custom meal plan that they came up with for my dog. So, as you can see I can begin things with a 2 week trial at 20% off.

Now by default this is set up to ship every 4 weeks. However, after purchase you can change things in your account like skipping or rescheduling your order. Or canceling your subscription all together.

And then after the trial I have a four-week plan at 10% off. And for my dog it would cost me $81.45 every month on this plan.

Now if I compare that with the food that my dog is on right now that’s very expensive for me. I can feed my dog for about $15 per month with very nutritious food.

My dogs on a combination of dry and raw food. Now a 5 pound bag of her dry food cost $26.99.

Now she has 3 different flavored to choose from and currently she’s having the lamb. And with her dry dog food 78% of the protein comes from lamb and 22% comes from vegetables.

And as for the raw food. It comes frozen and it’s either raw turkey with vegetables or raw chicken. And is portioned out in 2 pound package. And costs $4.98.

She gets a total of 1/3 of a cup of food for the day divided into 3 portions. And for her dinner portion I add a tablespoon of raw food.

So, for me this is something I would not purchase because of the price and I know the quality of the food that I’m feeding my dog right now because I did a lot of research about her dog food.

But that’s just me. I’m a crazy dog lover. My dog is my best friend. In fact, sometimes I tell people the more and more I meet people the more and more I love my dog.

But I do know millions of dog owners that would have no hesitation purchasing a custom meal plan for their dog.

Now as I said you don’t have to purchase a custom meal plan for your dog they do have other products available.

NOTE: When it comes to changing your dog’s food you don’t want to do all at once. You want to gradually add it to you dog’s current food over a period of at least a week. This way you will avoid giving your pooch an upset stomach.

They have 4 different types of dry dog food for you to choose from.

Compared to what I paid for my dry dog food and the prices that you see in grocery stores and pet stores I think these are very reasonably priced bags of dog food. And if I was looking for another quality food for my dog I would give these a try.

Supplements

Here you can find a range of supplements for your dog which include.

Protein Mix-Ins

These are mix ins that you add to your dog’s meal to give some extra flavor as well as a protein boost.

They come in 3 flavors. Chicken, salmon, and beef. And each mix in bag will cost you $16.19. Or if you like you can buy all 3 for $37.79.

How Much Does It Cost To Join And How Do You Make Money?

This being an affiliate program it’s going to cost you absolutely nothing to join.

In order to sign up for their affiliate program you’re going to have to go to the affiliate network CJ.com where hungry bark’s affiliate program is maintained. When you get to CJ.com you’re going to sign up as a publisher.

Once accepted at CJ you have access to all the material need to promote hungry barks products such as banners, links, content & offers. The program also has a 60 cookie.

Which this means if any customer that comes to hungry bark through your affiliate links and does not purchase right away their tracking cookies will track orders for 60 days from the first visit.

So, anytime during that first 60 days if this customer comes back to hungry bark and orders anything you’ll receive the commission.

As for what you can earn, you 2 ways of making money.

The first way is through subscription orders.

So, when you refer a customer to hungry bark and that person signs up for a subscription you’re going to earn 20% on that first order and then you going to earn a 5% recurring commission on every other subsequent order.

And if one of your referred customers does not sign up for a subscription you’ll still earn 20% on every order.

The Customers Point Of View

As an affiliate you need to consider how a customer is going to view the products you’re representing.

So, looking at this from the customer’s point of view the pros of Hungry Bark are:

• They can create a custom meal-plan for their dog or simply purchase the products they want.
• Monthly subscriptions are available with no commitment. You can skip, pause, swape or cancel at any time.
• You can simply shop for dog food. Or add supplements or protein mix-ins.
• The dog food (kibble) is made with real animal protein and superfood ingredients.
• In the world of online shopping this is convenient.
• Free shipping with orders over $50.00.
• They provide a full refund on any item within 30 days of purchase on your first try.

Now as with any product there are cons. And from what I see there are only a couple.

• Depending on the size of your dog, hungry bark dog food may cost you more.
• They don’t provide pre-portion packaging.

My Thoughts Of Hungry Bark

If you’re in the pet niche this would be a good affiliate program to add to your website. It does offer a decent commission of 20% up front. And you also have a 5% recurring commission available through subscriptions.

I also did some additional poking around looking for customer reviews. There are no reviews listed on TrustPilot.com. I did find a lot of positive reviews on Amazon. Along with some negative ones, but that’s to be expected.

And I even found some reviews on the ConsumerAffairs.com website. There are only 7 reviews at the time I checked. Not a whole lot but you do get more insight to the quality of Hungry Bark.

So, like I said if you’re in the pet niche this is a pretty decent affiliate program that you can add to your website.
