Welcome to my Signature Homestyles review. So, what is Signature Homestyles? Well, if you have a flare for interior design then Signature Homestyles just may be the homebased business for you.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. Before you make any sort of decision as to whether or not this is going to be the business for you.

Let’s first take a look at the company, the products and how you go about making money and building your business.

Now, I’m simply here to show you the pros and cons of Signature Homestyles and give you my personal opinion. What you decide to do after reading my review is of course totally up to you.

And with that said, let me first say, good on you for taking the time to do your own research before getting involved with any business opportunity. That alone tells me your serious about finding a legitimate way to make money online.

The Signature Homestyles Story

Signature Homestyles is a direct selling company in the home decor niche. Their mission is to help women create a beautiful home while at the same time providing a rewarding income.

The company started out as Wicker World in 1971 by Madolyn Johnson. And in 2006 it changed its name to Signature Homestyles. They are currently located in St. Charles Illinois.

And in 2009 Madolyn’s daughter Cari Christopher was promoted to president of the company and took over the day to day operations of the company.

The Products

At the time of this writing the products were listed under the following categories.

Accessories

• Here you’ll find things I like to call knick knacks. So, you have things like flower stems, vases, ribbon, signs, buckets, pitchers etc. And prices range from $18.00 to $110.00.

Bundles

• So here you have bundled items such as pillows, lanterns, pots, baskets, and such. With prices ranging from $30.00 to $172.00.

Candles and Candleholders

• Well this is pretty straight forward here you have a selection of candles and candleholders. Ranging in price from $12.00 to $81.00

Organization

• Here you have baskets, trays, and space savers. Ranging in price from $12.00 to $110.00.

Textiles

• Here you have a verity of table runners, pillows covers and throws. With the throws priced at $45.00. And the table runners priced at $25.00 and $28.00. And the pillow covers ranging in price from $16.00 to $40.00.

Wall Décor

• Here you have prints, signs, frames, mirrors, etc. Ranging in price from $14.00 to $158.00.

They also have category called Outlet Sale for sale items. They also have a few other categories but it’s obvious these are seasonal categories. Currently they have Fall and Christmas.

Ok, So How Much Does It Cost To Get Started With Signature Homestyles?

In doing my research I did come across different pricing to join. However, at the time of this writing these were the 2 options or Showcases available for becoming a rep for the company.

Showcase option 1 costs $119.00. (retail value $301.00)

This gets you a selection of products along with a replicated website and supplies such as order forms, idea show planner, annual idea book, and training material. There is also an addition $25.00 shipping fee with this showcase.

Showcase option 2 costs $219.00. (retail value $700.00)

This gets you a larger selection of products as well a replicated website as well as the same supplies and training material that come with first showcase option. There is a $38 shipping fee with this showcase.

No matter which showcase you choose. The replicated website is free for the first month. Then you’ll be charged $14.95 a month there after.

Now if you don’t want to jump in right away as a rep. You can be a host for a rep. Here’s the incentives for hosting a show.

How Do You Make Money With Signature Homestyles?

There are 2 ways of making money with Signature Homestyles compensation plan.

The first way is to simply retail the products. You’ll earn a 25-30% commission on all personal retail sales. And this can be done through Social Selling, Pop-Ups, Home Shows, Events, Personal Consultations, and any other ways you can think of.

Now the other way of increasing your income potential is to start building a team. And to do this you will need to start recruiting people into your business (downline).

And by doing this you now have the ability to earn the bonuses that come with building your team and by moving up the ranks within their compensation plan.

And as with every MLM compensation plan there are qualifications you must meet in order to become eligible for the income bonuses at each rank.

Here’s the ranks that are within their compensation plan.

• Senior Representative
• Executive Representative
• Team Leader
• Director
• Senior Director
• Executive Director
• Senior Executive Director
• National Director

Now there is a link on their website to their compensation plan. But there is no detailed explanation of the plan itself. But here’s a screen shot of their compensation plan.

And the content that is at the bottom of their plan is pretty small and hard to read so I copied that and have it below the image. It does help a little in understanding what you need to do to be eligible for the different bonuses.

Also to be considered an “active” representative so you are eligible for the different bonuses. You must ship $200 in customer orders every four months.

(1) Personal Group = Personally sponsored and Group-sponsored Representatives in your downline not including Leaders and their Personal Groups.

(2) Qualified Representative = Representative with $200 Sales in the Bonus Month. QGR includes Personal Recruits.

(3) Organizational Volume = Sales through the 3rd Generation.

(4) Activity Bonus is paid on qualified Representatives, Senior Representatives and Executive Representatives within a Team Leader’s (and above) Personal Group (QGR = Qualified Group Representative)

(5) Quarterly Growth Bonus on Infinity Organization not including downline National Directors or Senior Executive Directors.

(6) To promote to Team Leader you must meet qualifications for Executive Representative or be an Executive Representative to promote to Team Leader.

So, Can You Expect To Make Money With Signature Homestyles?

Signature Homestyles does not have an income disclosure statement. Now the great thing about an income disclosure statement is that it gives a yearly snapshot of the average earnings of all active sales reps.

And with that you can see what people are actually making. But since Signature Homestyles does not provide one, you have no idea what people are truly earning with this business.

So, can you expect to make money? Of course, you can. But the amount you earn is completely up to you.

What I Like About Signature Homestyles

#1) Longevity

The company has been around since 1971. So, they are definitely doing something right. So, if you do decide to join them you know you’re getting involved with a stable company.

#2) Better Business Bureau

The company is listed and in good standing with the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating.

#3) Low Qualification To Stay Active

You only have to ship $200 worth of product every 4 months to stay as an active representative.

#4) Nice Products

I like the products choices. They look like good quality as well as having unique and what seems to be exclusive designs.

#5) You Can Back Out

If within the first year of joining you decide that Signature Homestyles is not for you. You can cancel your agreement and return all your current unopened samples and materials to them.

They will refund the price you paid for your case, less a 10% restocking fee. And you’re responsible for the shipping cost.

#6) Good Return and Exchange Policy For Customers

If for any reason you’re not satisfied with your item. You have 90 days from the original ship date to return your item for an exchange or refund.

What I Didn’t Like About Signature Homestyles

#1) It’s An MLM

No matter how you look at it this is an MLM. And with that comes a very high failure rate. It’s been proven time and time again that multi-level marketing is a horrible business model to follow.

Only 1% of people actually make any significant money. While the other 99% of people that get involved with any MLM lose money. Definitely not the best odds for success.

#2) You Need To Become A Salesperson

This is a sales job. When you’re doing your one on one shows. You’re a salesperson. When you’re trying to recruit people into your business. You’re a salesperson.

So, if you don’t love sales then this is NOT the business for you.

#3) You Need To Recruit

While the retail commission is ok, it’s not the greatest. So, I can’t see making any real life changing money with this just by retailing the products.

In order to really make any significant income with this business you will need to start recruiting people on a regular basis. And that is a lot easier said than done.

The recruiting aspect of MLM is the hardest part of building a business. And not everyone is cut out to constantly recruit people day in and day out.

#4) No Income Disclosure Statement

When looking for a homebased business opportunity you need as much information as you can get so you can make an informed decision.

And one key piece of information is an income disclosure statement. And Signature Homestyles does not provide you one.

#5) Competition

When it comes to products like these you can find them everywhere. It’s not like they are hard to find. People can head to the mall, Ikea or Amazon and find similar products.

So from what I see there is going to be a lot of competition when it comes to retailing these products.

My Final Opinion Of Signature Homestyles – Who Is Signature Homestyles For?

As with any homebased business. What you put into your business is what you’ll get out of it.

So, if you’re a real go getter and hustler and you love decor and selling. And don’t mind constantly recruiting people in order to build your business. Then this may be the right business for you.

However, on the other hand if selling and recruiting is not your thing then this is probably not a good fit for you no matter how much potential there may be.

And if that’s the case, you should look for some other homebased business opportunity.

Now with that said you do have other options available to you.

One option you may want to consider is Affiliate Marketing.

With affiliate marketing you can build your business around your hobby or passion. Even if that’s home decor. Plus, with affiliate marketing you don’t need to join an MLM, recruit people, have home parties or become a salesperson to build a thriving online business.

Now I have no idea if affiliate marketing is right for you. Only you can decide that.
