Video Marketing Resources

As you probably know by now I am a big proponent of video marketing, in fact this is my primary way of marketing.

And over some time now I usually get 1 or 2 emails each week asking me questions regarding the best resources and tools to be a great video marketer.

So with that said I’m going to share with you all of the tools and resources I use for my video marketing.

And I’m only going to refer you to the tools and resources I currently use – simply because I can’t really comment on things I have never worked with, that would not be fair.

Enjoy!!

Video Hosting

You have to host your videos somewhere and for that you have several choices.

Of course the most obvious one is YouTube. I have many, many videos on YouTube but there are limits and sometimes I need videos on my site or other places and using YouTube is not always the right choice.

Vimeo

I really like Vimeo – just like YouTube your videos are uploaded to the Vimeo website – but you are not limited to just that. Unlike YouTube you have more control over how you share your videos.

You have full control over the player customizations as well as the privacy setting (sharing).

One of the setting I love is you can set things so your video does not display on the Vimeo website, this way you can have videos that are shared with only the people you want to share them with.

Vimeo has a free version and then they have a Plus and Pro version. Vimeo Plus costs $59.05 per year or $9.95 per month. And Vimeo Pro costs $199.00 per year.

Wistia

Here is another video hosting company I love and yes I use. Wistia hosting has a ton of very cool features designed for your business. Just to mention a few features they have a Turnstile Email Collector.

With this you can set up your video so people have to enter their email address to see the video – a great way to build your mailing list.

You can also add a clickable call to action to the end of any of your videos. And this link can go to anywhere you want it to.

Unlike YouTube where you are restricted to just linking to your website. With Wistia you can link directly to your affiliate programs pages.

Wistia pricing structure is by levels you can start out with a free account that gives you 3 videos you can host which also has Wistia branding included and then the pricing goes up from there and the branding is removed.

You start at $25 per month for up to 25 videos and 50GB all the way up to $300 per month unlimited videos and 1 TB.

Video Editing Software

You need software to create your videos and for that you have a few choices and really depends on your preference.

Camtasia

I really like Camtasia. It’s really easy to use and you don’t have to be a video pro right out of the gate to make great videos. But it’s like anything the more you use it the better you become.

Camtasia comes available for PC and Mac and comes with a 30 day free trial. Camtasia cost $299.00

Video Animation

There are some killer programs available for making some of the coolest animated videos, here’s the ones I use.

Pow Toons

Pow toons is by far the easiest tools for creating killer animated videos. You can start with a free version and then upgrade from there. The pro version is $19 per month or you can pay annually for $228.00 if you like.

Sparkol

You probably have seen these style videos. These are the ones where a hand is drawing the video. If you wanted have one of these videos created it would cost you on average $1000 per minute – yep that’s tight per minute!!

But with sparkol you can create these same style videos for a fraction of the price a yearly subscription is $199.00 or it’s $26 per month.

 Images

Getting images for your videos can be a challenge – but most importantly any images you use must be royalty free. You certainly don’t want to be sued for copyright infringement. And I’ve seen that happen and it’s not pretty.

So below is a list of sites I use on a regular basis:

Video And Music Stock

Adding additional video and music to your videos add another layer of dimension as well as setting the tone for your video. Here are the resources I use to add those different layers to my videos.

 Motion Graphics

Motion graphics are active images – meaning they move. You can add everything from backgrounds to characters to lower thirds.
