There is nothing more enticing than the idea that it is possible to not only make back an investment but to double, triple, or quadruple it within a month.
Anyone would see this as a great opportunity but returns this high should also make you question whether or not a program that promises this capability is worth investing your time, money, and energy.
With somewhat questionable practices and a lack of emphasis on the actual training product, is Secret Success Machine a scam?
Yeah right $41,000 in a week I call bullshit and to me – it is a scam and a total rip off!!
So What Is Secret Success Machine?
The SSM is made up of series of business training and marketing products that help people become financially independent while working from home.
It’s made up of tiers that each come with a variety of training videos and audio files ranging from basic internet marketing to advanced email marketing, seo, and networking.
There is also an extreme focus placed on making high commission through promoting the system/training itself with automatic lead generation software.
These automatic lead generation works online, with auto dialers, and participants can choose to use direct mail postcards to help generate leads.
Depending on how you view the company, this falls closely on the line of a MLM even though there are many reassurances that this is no such thing.
I would be inclined to agree to an extent if most of the sales videos put actual focus on what you’ll be learning with the training instead of focusing on how easy it is to continuously promote the same program to other people in order to make money.
Honestly, it makes me wonder how many people actually take the time to go through the training that they are purchasing or if they just immediately focus on recruiting (sorry referring) people to the business course packages.
After doing multiple searches online many of the coaches I found promoting Secret Success Machine had random 404 links from social networks and not one had an actual established website with updated content.
This is not to say that there are not people putting the training into practice; just that the webinar makes it seem like the actual training isn’t necessary at all and you will simply be making all your money by having other people buy into the money making opportunity with the use of all the automated lead and follow up tools.
Who Is Secret Success Machine For?
This is somewhat confusing as depending on where you read on the website, you will get two different ideas.
The webinar mentions over and over again that they are looking for serious entrepreneurial oriented people who have invested money in an business opportunity before or who have past experience with owning their business.
On the other hand, in the FAQs section, there is a question asking if the system is newbie friendly. The response is that the system is thorough and easy enough to walk someone with zero experience through the entire process.
How Does Secret Success Machine Work?
There is a reason that “secret” is in the title of this product. Much of the actual training is held tightly under wraps unless you buy in first.
There are four main ways to make money:
- Member Upgrades – When people that you have recruited pay to upgrade to the next level, you will make a commission.
- Personal Sales – These are the sales of the products you have made to people. The first sale you make at each level counts as a “qualifying” sale and will actually be paid to the person who invited you. This means you won’t make money until at least your second sale.
- Qualifying Sales – If a person that you sell to also sells a product to someone else, that first payment goes to you as the original inviter.
- Roll-ups – You can only collect commissions based on the cap at your particular level. The difference is paid to the next person up the line who matches or exceeds that package level. This encourages people to buy in as high as possible in order to not lose commissions.
This “upline” system is what makes many people compare programs like this to a MLM or pyramid scheme.
It’s definitely in a grey area depending on how you view products being promoted – IE: is it the training product being promoted or is it the promise of making money that gets people in.
What’s The Price?
Before I touch upon the prices I would like to mention how the commission payout works because it is directly related to how much you spend on your purchase. The amount of commission earned cannot be more than the current level you are at.
So for example, if you bought in at the lowest option of $500, but one of the people you recruit later on buys in at $3500, you will not make 100% of this payment.
Now according to the product page in the elite section; you will not make any commission at all if someone buys above your level.
On the other hand, the FAQs page on the main sales page says that you will simply make your level amount and the leftover will “roll up”.
So in the previous example, you would make $500 and $3000 would go up the line to the first person at the required level.
There are six different levels available for purchase. There is an admin fee of $247 added on to each advertised price. Just so you know, the admin price was raised from $197.
It is unknown to me if the admin fee is locked in place from the time of your purchase or if each year when you pay the admin fee you will be paying the current value of the fee at that time.
- Bronze – $500
- Silver – $2000
- Gold – $3500
- Platinum – $6500
- Diamond – $12000
- Elite/Royal – $20000
There is a special within the first few days that if you sign up at the Gold or above level, that you will be automatically upgraded to the level about that. Which is important to their commission payout system as mentioned above.
If you do not want to follow up with your own leads, you can pay for a call center to handle your calls for you based on the percentage of the sale. You will also need to have an autoresponder like Aweber for example, in order for the email follow ups to work.
Are There Any Upsells?
Besides the different packages. There doesn’t seem to be any obvious upsells. I did email one of the sponsors and still have not gotten a response in regards to the automated lead generator system.
The webinar clearly states repeatedly that if you buy in at the Gold level that you will receive access to that automated lead generating software.
While the Bronze level does say that you can pay for a call center, it really isn’t clear about whether or not that includes the automated lead generation software.
Especially since if one of your prospects chooses not to buy one of the packages, you can still sell the software for a commission.
So there is a chance that this is an extra cost but at this time it has not been clarified. Please feel free to leave more info in the comments regarding this if you have know.
What Training And Tools Can You Expect?
The training that each person receives is solely dependant on the level that is purchased. Each level contains all the training from all the levels below it so if you buy in at the top you get all the training below.
The first thing I want to say about any of the training is that I find the emphasis of each level a little confusing.
For example, it would make more sense to me for people trying to make money online to learn about SEO early on but training on this isn’t available in depth until the diamond packages at $12000.
As a quick overview, the training consists of videos, documents, and audio files covering topics such as:
- Time Management
- Creating and Marketing your own products
- Email marketing
- Social Media
- Direct Mail
- SEO training
- Online marketing
I can’t attest to the quality of the training but for the price I would hope it is downright amazing. But with what I see of this program I doubt it.
Granted many people can learn quite a few of these skills for significantly less money. Though promoting these products won’t make you thousands of dollars per sale.
In reality you can learn everything you need to make a full time income online and more for so much less. And I mean a TON less.
STOP!! You Don’t Need To Spend This Kind Of Money
How’s The Support?
Every level has unlimited support for their website but there is no mention of the actual support for the system and training itself.
More than likely, this is greatly dependant on the person who invites you in. There is not an actual support community so if your coach is unresponsive you are kind of left to figure it out all on your own.
This may not be an issue if the training is laid out in an easy to follow and executable manner but there is no doubt that having a live person to help you through the process can be very reassuring.
What I Liked
Even though the training descriptions look like they cover everything a person would need in order to be successful marketing online. There is NO way that this training cost these bloated prices.
So I really don’t like anything this programs offers. It’s a rip off.
What I Didn’t Like
- Requires A Sponsor/Coach – Yes, I know SSM insists they are in no way an MLM, I have only seen the requirement for a sponsor in these types of companies such as Avon, Scentsy, Vemma, etc. If you make it to the site you will be able to find out no information unless you can scour down someone who is actually promoting the system.
- Price – One of the highest priced items I have seen on the internet that focused on training. The cost is enough for more than one degree from a community college.
- Sales Emphasis – On recruitment instead of on the training that is being provided.
- MLM Type Model – A sponsor/recruiter is required. A purchase is required for you to make any commission. There is an upline model for commissions.
- Automated Phone Calls – This was one of the biggest complaints that I saw about SSM. However they generate their leads also leads to automated phone calls going out which have a 30 second teaser to get people to visit a sponsor’s site.
My Final Opinion
At this point I feel like the cost of the training is really just a front for people to become an affiliate for a very high priced product which in turn leads to very high commissions.
This promise of high profits is what most members of Secret Success Machine promote and it turns into a cycle of people buying just so they can then become an affiliate.
Sounds a lot like another scam I reviewed called the Empower Network. Just recruit people so they can sell the product, so they can recruit people. This is not building a REAL business.
From the webinar alone, it seems like you really don’t need the training at all; you just need to pay for the level you want to be able to make commissions at, use their automated lead generator system, and let the done for you sales page do all the work.
Most affiliate programs do not require an initial investment in order for you to promote the product. I would feel more comfortable recommending the product if more emphasis was put on the training, creating your own products, and making money this way.
Instead it follows a model that is commonly seen with MLMs where you need to pay a fee in order to start making any money. Not to mention there is a downline/upline system in place which is also not common among normal affiliate programs.
Stay away from from this program. Complete waste of money.
Look I’ve said it a million times you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to get the best training, tools, support and resources to build a thriving online business.
Programs like these are just snake oil salesmen that don’t give a shit about you, they want your money – you’re just a number. No more no less. And if that’s all you care about is money and don’t care who you screw over then this is the perfect program for you.
But if not, and you want to build a real online business, one you can be proud of.
