Content Marketing – Unlimited Content Ideas
Like most content marketers coming up with ideas for things to write about everyday can be a big challenge.
And I can truly say one of the top questions I get asked over and over again is “What should I write about and where do I get ideas?”
I bet on more than one occasion you’ve been staring at a blank screen wondering what you should write about. Hey, I’ve been there too.
But many years ago I found many different techniques as well as some resources to get inspiration from when one of those days of a blank screen is staring back at me.
So let me share with you some of these techniques and resources so you never are at a loss for content ideas.
Method One – Share Your Research
For this technique all you need to be is curious and know how to use Google. If you have that you’re good to go.
For many people once they get online it’s a whole new world and the things that you and I take for granted like internet terms, website terms and so on is all a mystery for these people.
And this alone can be a wealth of content ideas.
For instance you could write all about the different internet terms or website terms.
You would be surprised at how many people don’t know what HTML is or what the term Opt In means or what SERP stands for. You could easily create a whole article series just for this subject alone.
Method Two – Answer FAQ’s
I’m sure you’ve had questions when you first got online and probably still have new questions everyday. And after some research you’ve found the answers to these questions.
So why not share the answers with your audience?
You can also visit forms and poke around and see what people are asking and then use that as a springboard for your content and answer the question on your site.
I’m a member of a great community called The Wealthy Affiliate a place that teaches anyone how to build a successful online business. And many members are just learning so naturally many questions are being asked.
And because of that I have the opportunity of helping these members but I also have an endless supply of content ideas.
Method Three – Share Your Own Experience
Do not discount the experience you have. Like many people you have a wealth of knowledge in the field you are in. So share it!
One of the biggest mistakes we can make is thinking people don’t want to hear what we have to say or we think “they already know that”
Don’t assume people know what you know.
And the best content for this is: “How To” and “What To Avoid”
So for example you could write about:
- 3 Sure Fire Ways Of Increasing Your Affiliate Commissions
- How To Eat Healthy And Love It
- Avoid The Top 3 Mistakes Of Every New Dog Owner
- How To Cook The Perfect Steak Every Time
At this very moment there is someone online searching for the information that you have. And once they find you and keep you as a resource. You have started a relationship with that person.
And once people Know, Like and Trust you – they WILL buy from you.
Method Four – Solve A Specific Problem
When people jump online many of those searches are done by people that are searching for a solution to a specific problem.
Millions of people get online everyday and search for solutions for problems. So why not be the person that provides the solution?
However for this method to be really effective you need to get really specific – and the more specific the better.
So for example people doing searches about acne are usually searching for a solution, and in most cases a product that can get rid of their acne.
You could write a review about the different products that are available a best to worst list if you will. You’re providing top quality information that is providing a solution to a specific problem.
It’s a win – win.
And what I really like about this method is it is true, with no hype or sales pitches. Just pure information to help people.
Resources For Content
Below are some great resources for finding content for just about anything.
Yahoo Answers – Everyday people are looking for answers to all types of problems.
Store For Dummies – Resource the top dummies books for all kinds of ideas.
Forums – Simply do a search for a forum(s) that are aligned with your niche. You’ll find an endless supply of content ideas there.
Websites – I have many websites that I follow that give me great inspiration for content ideas for this niche of Internet Marketing.
I lost so many ideas saying to myself “I’ll make a note of that when I get home” or “That’s a good idea I have to remember that” and in most cases the idea was lost forever.
So years ago I started having either a notepad or my iPhone with me at all times. So when an idea for something pops in my head I have a place to make a note of it.
And then I use Evernote on my computer to transfer my ideas too from my notepad and my phone. This way I’m never without content ideas.
Well there you have it. You now have a huge arsenal of techniques and resources so you never run out of ideas for your content.
Hopefully the days of feeling frustrated when you need to come up with content are behind you.
I hope you found this post helpful. If so, feel free to share it with your audience, and if you have any questions or comments please leave them below.
