Affiliate Marketing Tools For Beginners

The thought of working from home or anywhere in the world for that matter is very doable with affiliate marketing.

And because of that affiliate marketing is becoming more and more popular everyday as more people are looking to trade the 9 to 5 workday to becoming their own boss.

But don’t be fooled. Creating a successful online affiliate marketing business takes a lot of hard work.

And in order to do that you’re going to need the right tools. Which brings us to today’s post: Affiliate marketing tools for beginners.

Now I’ve been a fulltime online affiliate marketer since 2005. And during this time, I have used many different tools. Some were useless and while others of course are working very well.

So, I thought I would put together a list of the tools I’m currently using every day in my affiliate marketing business. Now of course you don’t need to use everything I’m using. But I will make a point of telling you which ones you really should be using.

I’ve also included resources that I use as well. These are not must have’s but they do make certain tasks easier.

So, with that said let’s get to my big bad list of affiliate marketing tools for beginners.

Oh, and as I am an affiliate marketer there are affiliate links in this post. So, if you do decide to purchase a product or service I have recommended I will make a small commission. This of course does not affect the price you’ll pay for the product or service.

Wealthy Affiliate

If you want to succeed with affiliate marketing you have to start off on the right foot. And the best resource for the most up to date training to learn how to build and grow a thriving affiliate marketing business is Wealthy Affiliate.

You will not only have the best training available. You’ll also have all the resources, tools and personal one-on-one support while building your business.

In fact, it’s wealthy affiliate that has helped me grow my affiliate marketing business into a multiple 6-figure a year income.

WordPress

WordPress is the most popular free platform for building websites. In fact at the time I’m writing this post 37% of all websites use WordPress.

And it’s so popular because of the ease of use, especially for beginners.

It also has a built in content management system. And it’s this CMS system allows you to engage with your visitors through your blog (comments).

You also have access to thousands of plugins that give you the ability features and functionality to your site. This is the must have platform for your website.

Generate Press

Now when it comes to the theme you want to use for your website you literally have 1000’s and 1000’s of free themes to choose from.

Of course, you can use a free theme but it’s best to step up and purchase a pro theme. The reasoning being pro versions give you many more features and ongoing support if you have any issues with the theme.

Plus, pro versions are updated so they are always kept up to date. Many free themes are not keep up to date and this can cause many problems for your website.

Now when it comes to my websites theme, I use Generate Press Pro. And it’s only $59.00 per year to have the pro version.

It’s light weight, which means it does not have bloated code that can and will slow down your website. And having a fast lading website is critical to your sites success.

It’s also mobile friendly which is a must have when it comes to any WordPress theme.

All In One SEO

All in one SEO is a search engine optimization plugin that allows you to set up the proper SEO for your website. This plugin is a must have plugin.

AIOSEO allows you to optimize your website so you can improve your website’s search rankings and get maximum traffic. There is a free version and a pro version. I use the free version.

Google Analytics

Google analytics is a must have for your website. This free program from Google allows you to track and understand the behavior of the people (traffic) that come to your website.

You’ll be able to see where your visitors are coming from, what pages they visited, how long they stayed on your site, where the exited your site plus other valuable data that you can use to grow your business.

Google Search Console

The Google Search Console is another must have free tool from Google. It use to be called Google Webmaster Tools but the changed the name to the Google Search Console in 2015.

The Google Search Console allows you to measure the performance of the search traffic for your website as well as fix any issues with your website.

So you can analyze impressions, clicks and your websites position within Google search.

GTMetrix

With site speed being a top ranking signal used by Google. Your websites site speed is very important to the success of your business. And one of the best resources for checking your sites website speed is GTMetrix.

Simply enter your websites URL and GTMetrix will analysis your site and give you a report about your site’s web speed. And included in this report are the measures you can take to improve your sites loading speed. Below is a screen shot for my website.

Website Hosting

Now when it comes to website hosting you have a ton of options. Personally, I use Hostgator and have been doing so since 2005. And in that time, I can count on one hand the issues I have had with their hosting, which is to say – none really.

Not only is the hosting very reliable, but it’s also the customer service that I really like. Anytime I need to contact them, which is rarely. I can either live chat or call them 27/7 – 365.

As for cost they have a range of hosting packages. And all come with a first time buyer’s discount. Now because there are so many options, I recommend you shop around and compare services.

Other popular hosting companies are Bluehost and DreamHost just to name a few.

WP Rocket

WP Rocket is a caching plugin for WordPress websites. This plugin will reduce the load time of your website. And by speeding up your website it will help improve your Google Core Vitals and Google page Speed score.

All of which will help you improve your websites overall ranking is the SERP’s (search engine results page).  WP Rocket.

Imagify

Website loading speed is a top priority when it comes to having a successful website. And one of the contributing factors to websites loading slow is having big image files.

So, to make sure your site is loading quickly you want to have your images compressed (lighter). And the plugin I use to be sure every image I upload to my site is as light as it can be is Imagify.

It reduces the weight (size) of my image files without sacrificing their quality.

LastPass

Protecting your passwords is vital. So it only makes sense to use a password manager. So instead of trying to remember all of your passwords you can use a password manager like LastPass.

LastPass stores all your usernames and passwords in a vault that’s encrypted to your device. So now all you have is one master password to access the vault and all your passwords.

LastPass if free to use free to use on a single device type. If you want or need access through mutliple devices like through your desktop computer you will need to upgrade to premium.

WordFence

Online secruity is a must. And the best security for your wordpress website is WordFence. Wordfence is a wordpress security plugin.

It is endpoint firewall and malware scanner which keeps your website safe from malicious traffic. There is a free version as well as a premium version available.

Keyword Research Tools

When it comes to creating content it all starts with keyword research. And I have 2 resources that I use for my own content research.

First is Jaaxy. I like Jaaxy because it simple to use and give you easy to view results when it comes to the competitiveness of your keywords.

Jaaxy is free to try for the first 30 searches and then it’s $49.00 per month.

Next is Ubersuggest. With Ubersuggest I can reverse engineer my competitors’ SEO, content marketing, and social media marketing strategy.

So, I can see what’s working for my competition and then use that information to gain the edge.

Ubersuggest is free to use for as long as you like. And the free version does give you a lot of useful data. They also have a premium version which is what I use. And of course, the upgraded version comes with more features.

You can either pay monthly as an individual for $29.00 per month or pay the lifetime fee of only $290.00 for an individual.

Gravity Forms

If you want people to contact you through email it’s a good idea to use a contact form.

And one of the main reasons you want to use a contact form instead of just having your email address exposed on your website is because spambot are always scrapping email exposed email addresses from websites.

And by having a contact form on your website your email address is not exposed to these spambots and your email address won’t be added to all kinds of spammy email lists.

Now there are plenty of free plugins that you can use. But you’ll find many of them are of poor quality. Personally, I use Gravity Forms on my websites.

It’s easy to install and use plus it gives you 30+ form fields and additional features you won’t find when using a free form.

Thrive Architect

Thrive Architect is visual editor for WordPress page builder which is part of Thrive Suit. With Thrive Architect you can build amazing homepages for your website.

Other popular image sites are:

Aweber

When it comes to building an email list you going to need a autoresponder service. Now I’ve used many different services over the years and the one I have come to rely on is Aweber.

It’s easy to use and set up. Yeah, there is a learning curve but they have a ton of training videos. Plus, you have access to live chat support anytime you need an hand or just have a question.

You can get started with their service for free up to 500 subscribers. And then you have the pro service which I use. And that starts at $16.15 per month.
