Affiliate Marketing Dude. Is It Worth It?

affiliate marketing dude

Welcome to my Affiliate Marketing Dude review.

Affiliate Marketing Dude  by Marcus Campbell has been around for a very long time. And because his program has been around for such a long time people are wondering is it still a good training platform (program) to learn how to become a successful affiliate marketer.

Now there is no denying that affiliate marketing is one of the more profitable ways of making money online. And I speak from experience when I say that because affiliate marketing is how I’ve been earning a full time living online since 2005.

But there are a lot of affiliate training programs online claiming they have all the secrets when it comes to building a thriving online business as an affiliate marketer.

Now as much as I would love to tell you that most of the programs online will give you the tools, training, resources and support you need to building a thriving affiliate marketing business. I can’t.

The reality is that there are a lot of programs that are outright scams while others are selling are outdated concepts that simply don’t work.

So today I’m digging into affiliate marketing dude and going over exactly what this program is all about.

And as always, I’m simply here to show you the pros and cons of affiliate marketing dude and give you my personal opinion and what I think of it. What you decide to do after reading my review is completely up to you.

And with that said, let me first say, good on you for taking the time to do your own research before buying any online product or service. That alone tells me your serious about finding a legitimate way to make money online.

Alright, let’s see what Affiliate Marketing Dude is all about.

So, What Is Affiliate Marketing Dude?

In a nutshell affiliate marketing dude is a program that’s going to show you how to create high ticket niche websites and monetize those websites through affiliate marketing.

Now I’m not sure if you know exactly what affiliate marketing is. But basically, affiliate marketing is where you get paid a small commission from companies that you’re affiliated with by promoting their products or services.

Now just because someone is making money with affiliate marketing that doesn’t automatically mean the training program that they’re offering is worth getting involved with.

Now this review is here to help you to make a decision whether you should spend your money on Marcus’s program.

But moving forward you need to know I did not spend money on Marcus’s program. Not only because of the price he’s asking for his program. But several other reasons that I’m going to get into in this review.

But first let me just show you what he is offering you.

The Cost

There is the main product and then there’s two additional products that you can pay for if you decide to.

Simple Sites Big Profits – $297

This is the core training of affiliate marketing dude. And this is where you going to learn the exact model that Marcus has used to build his affiliate marketing business over the years.

Mentor Program – $77 per month

The mentoring program is a monthly subscription and gives you access to training videos as well as live training sessions. You’ll also see what plug-ins Marcus’s uses to optimize his affiliate sales and you will also have access to private webinars.

High Ticket Niches – $1277 (was $997)

This is where Marcus will choose a high ticket niche for you, set up your domain, provide you some content and the right plugins and tools for your site.

Who Is The Target Audience?

This program is targeted at the newbie affiliate marketer wanting a step-by-step program showing them how to begin and grow an affiliate marketing business.

So How Does It Work?

The core training revolves around three steps. Yes, there’s more to it but this is the core of the training.

Find A Niche

Your first step is to find a niche. Now if you’re not sure what a niche is. A niche is specific targeted audience within a market.

So, for example weight loss is a market. Teaching people how to lose weight over 50 years old is a targeted niche within the weight loss market.

And the best niches to get involved with are the niches that really you’re interested and excited about.

So, let’s say you really love dogs and the breed of dog that you really love are Border Collies. You could build a website around border collies. The market being dogs, and the targeted niche being Border Collies.

Find Affiliate Offers

So, let’s stick with your Border Collie website. In order for you to make money as an affiliate marketer you’re going to be promoting affiliate products and services related to border collies and other related products for dogs.

And any time someone clicks on your affiliate link and purchases the product or service you’re recommending you’re going to earn a commission for that sale.

And you can easily find plenty of affiliate offers related to border collies and dogs in general.

Getting Traffic

Once you have your website set up the most important thing you need now is website traffic.

You can have the best website on the planet in whatever niche you’re in. But if no one knows your site exists then it’s completely useless and you’re not going to make any money.

And traffic is the hardest part for any online marketer. But the good news is there’s lots, lots of traffic out there for you.

There are two types of traffic – there is paid traffic and there is free traffic. Paid traffic is far more risky no matter how great the training is because you do need a healthy budget to do paid traffic.

Also, with paid traffic you have to understand and be willing to lose your money. Because there is no guarantee that you’re going to get a return on your investment no matter how great the training claims it is.

Free traffic is done through content creation, social media and such. It does take longer to develop but there is no financial risk involved while developing your free traffic and you can generate traffic for years to come. Whereas with paid traffic once you stop paying for traffic, your traffic stops.

I’ve created content years ago that’s still brining traffic to my website.

What I Didn’t Buy Affiliate Marketing Dude

I have to admit my first impression of affiliate marketing dude was not that great. From the moment I got to his website and went through his sales page. Which by the way has not been updated in years.

And because the construction and style has not been updated, I honestly felt that I was stepping back in time by 15 years when long sales page letters like this were used for online marketing.

And because of that, his sales page just screamed to me – This is going to be either out of date, overpriced or both. And it was and it is. Heck the testimonials that he has on his sales page are from 2012, 2013 and the earliest one I saw was 2015.

Plus what he is charging for his program is crazy. Expecially because I know of a far better alternative for you that will cost you a hell of lot less then what Marcus is charging you and give you 10 times more value. In fact you can set up your website (business) for free.

#1) Out Of Date Concept

Marcus’s whole concept is to build small niche websites that consist of 3 or 4 pages and then drive paid traffic to those sites that are promoting affiliate products/services. The concept further goes on to tell you to build multiple sites (20 to 30) to increase your income.

Yes, you can do this. And yes, you can profit doing this. But in order for this to work you’re going have to spend money to drive traffic to these types of websites. Sites like these will never see any significant rankings within the search engines. So, forget about free organic traffic from the search engines.

Sure, you can build a niche site to test the market and maybe make a quick buck or two.

But a better long-term strategy is building a larger more authoritative website with more content, providing more value that will create natural links. This is by far a much better long term strategy, than having 30+ niche websites.

Plus, you don’t need to build multiple websites to generate a full-time income online. You just need one website to make money online whether it’s part-time money or your goal is to create a full-time income online.

#2) About The Traffic

As I said, in order for this concept to work you’re going to have to use paid traffic. And even with training this is going to be very expensive.

There is a huge learning curve when it comes to paid traffic. So, you’re going to have to be willing to lose your money because there is no guarantee you’re going to see any return on your investment.

Now Marcus says you only need about $30 to get started and this will allow you to do some testing which you can breakeven on or maybe even see some profit.

Well I hate to burst your bubble but that’s not reality. Very few people and I mean very few people will break even or see any profit on their first venture into paid advertising.

Also $30 is not going to get you anywhere in paid advertising. At a bare minimum you’re going to need at least $150 per month as a budget. That’s $5 per day. And $5 per day would allow you to start advertising on Facebook. However, $500 would is a more realistic monthly budget.

He goes on to tell you that he knows how to get you $200 worth of pay per click coupons. You don’t need Marcus to get these coupons. Coupons like that are available through AdWords and Bing to new paid advertising customers.

If you’re like the majority of people that start in paid advertising, you’re going to burn through that coupon money real fast and now you’re going to have to take money out of your own pocket if you want to continue with paid advertising.

And keep in mind because he’s telling you to set up multiple niche websites that have very little content on them. 3 or 4 pages at best.

So generating free traffic is out of the question. These websites will not gain any notable ranking within the search engines at all. Because from a Google (search engine) point of view and because of the updates to the search engines, these websites you’re creating have zero value. There’s nothing to them so they’ll never rank high in the search results.

The only way these sites could develop free traffic is if you’re constantly adding new fresh, informative and engaging content that people are searching for. And it’s this content that has the opportunity to get top natural rankings within the search engine results that can drive free traffic to your website.

Now I’m going to lie to you and say that it doesn’t take a lot of work building free traffic, it does. But free traffic is a far more sustainable long term solution compared to paid traffic. Not to mention there is ZERO financial risk with free traffic.

Also remember when you stop paying for traffic, your traffic stops. And so does your income.

All the traffic that comes to my site is free. Heck, I’ve created content years ago that still sends free traffic to my site.  And that free traffic has allowed me to earn a multiple 6-figure yearly income as an affiliate marketer.

Despite what Marcus is trying to sell you. It ONLY takes 1 website to create a full time online income and you can do it without spending a dime on traffic.

#3) Paid Mentoring

Now included with your program fee of $297 you get 90 days free coaching from Marcus and his team. But I know from experience you’re going to need a lot more than 90 days of mentoring and coaching while you’re building your business.

And if you want that additional mentoring and coaching it’s not free. Marcus is charging you $77 per month for that.

While I agree that personal coaching and mentoring is a good thing especially when you’re just starting out online. To this day I still have mentors and coaches.

I know of far better programs that include ongoing mentoring and coaching for as long as you need it. So, for me asking people to spend an additional $77 a month for mentoring I see this as just a money grab.

Hell, you don’t have to spend anything, you can ask me. A veteran full time affiliate marketer any question anytime you want through my website. And it won’t cost you a dime. I’ve said it a thousand times, and I’ll say it a thousand more times – I’m here to help.

Just click here ask your question and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours (usually sooner).

And I also provide free one-on-one coaching and I’ll share how you can take advantage of that in a moment.

#4) Niche Selection

This $1277 offer is absolutely ridiculous to say the least. You don’t need anyone to choose a niche for you, or build a website for you.

Having someone else choose a niche market for you just because in theory its popular and the opportunity may be there to make money is a recipe for total failure.

And I say that because when you pick your own niche (which is free and easy to do) you can now build your site around something you love. Not be forced to build a business around a niche you have zero interest in.

And really, how long do you think you’ll last in a niche if you have zero interest in that niche just because you were told that’s the niche you have to be in. Compared to a niche you picked because you love it?

Plus, when you do things for yourself, there is no financial risk involved. And more importantly doing things for yourself allows you to learn new skills as a online markter. As well as make you a much better markter.

And you can easily do this even if you have zero experience or tech skills with the tools and resources that are available nowadays.

In fact, I’m going to show you how to pick your niche and how you can have your website set up completely free. No need to spend $1277 with this ABSURD offer.

#5) Dead Forum Support

I took a look at the forum where you’re going to get your help and support and from what I can see, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for support.

I went into a few of the forum areas and the last time someone posted a question in this forum area was in 2016 and then back in 2014.

forum

I went into a different area of the forum which is titled This Week At Affiliate Marketing Dude.

The latest entry was posted on June 18, 2019. And I’m doing this review on December 1, 2019, so that six months since the last post. And the post before that was in October 2018.

Another sign this forum is dead. He is still promoting the Preorder of his 2017 Sample Sites. And at the time of my review its Dec 1, 2019.

forum

When you get involved in affiliate marketing or any online business that you want to create online and your new at it. Having support is absolutely crucial.

When you’re building your business, you’re going to have questions. And when you do you need a resource where you can get answers to those questions immediately not months from now or if at all.

And from what I’ve seen help is nowhere to be found within the Affiliate Marketing Dude forum. This forum is dead.

#6) No Refunds

Just be aware if you do decide to buy any of what I feel are way overpriced products from Marcus. There are NO refunds. So be prepared to say goodbye to your money if you’re not statisfied with what you get.

Now, I know of other marketers that offer programs where they provide serivces setting things up, mentoring and such. And these programs offer refunds. Some offer 14 days while others offer 30 days. But with Marcus it’s a total gamble.

My Final Opinion Of Affiliate Marketing Dude

I’ve been around this business for a very long time and I’ve used many programs so I know how affiliate marketing works.

And what Marcus is trying to sell you at the price he is selling things is ridiculous. You DON’T have to spend this kind of money to get started in affiliate marketing.

Now I will admit I was pretty tough when reviewing this program. But I just can’t recommend this stuff especially at these prices.

And I’ll Say It Again

“You don’t have to spend this kind of money to build a thriving affiliate marketing business.”

You can build a thriving affiliate marketing business for far less money – guaranteed. But don’t think you’re not going to have to bust your ass to build your business because you will. Even Marcus tells you that.

But you don’t have to pay the BIG price Marcus is asking you to pay to do it.

In this review I’ve been hinting at a resource that in my opinion is a much better alternative to the affiliate marketing dude.

And that alternative is Wealthy Affiliate.

With wealthy affiliate you’ll have all the tools, resources, up to date training and support you’ll need while building your business.

Including 24/7 live chat support. As well as personal one-on-one support from me as well as the entire wealthy affiliate community.

Currently there are over 2 million people (and growing) taking advantage wealthy affiliate’s state-of-the-art live and interactive training platform.

Now, personally, since having access to everything wealthy affiliate has available. My business has grown each and every year to the point where I’m now earning a multiple six-figure yearly income.

But even then, I’m busting my ass each day to build my business. And Like I mentioned earlier you’ll have to work hard too if you want to succeed with your business.

So, my suggestion before you commit to Marcus’s program. Take the time to check out Wealthy Affiliate. And then you be the judge.

And you can check out everything wealthy affiliate has to offer absolutely free.

I hope you found this review helpful and I hope I answered any questions you may have had about Affiliate Marketing Dude.

  1. WA 🤣 . It’s common to write bad reviews and then promote WA . MC IS certainly not out of date. What is says to me is that you really don’t know what you’re talking about

    • Hey Gareth, At the time I did this review which was 2 years ago everything I found was out of date and in my opinion overpriced. And I stand by what I said years ago.

Now, I’ve done hundreds of reviews and many reviews of similar programs, and when a program stands out, I will always let people know that it has value and is worth the investment.

But I will always let people know about the Wealthy Affiliate, whether I feel the product I’ve reviewed has value or not. This way people know what other options are available. This way people can decide what’s best for them.

Personally, I feel the WA is a far superior state of the art community and training resource. That’s constantly being updated to stay ahead of the ever changing digital marketing space. And for that in my opinion it’s a more valued based service. My opinion. Will people disagree? Of course they will and that’s fine.

And I understand and appreciate you standing up for the affiliate marketing dude. Just like I stand behind wealthy affiliate. And so, there are times when people can agree to disagree.

Now with that said. You say affiliate marketing dude is not out of date. Maybe things have changed with affiliate marketing dude. And because that may be true, I’m more than willing to revisit affiliate marketing dude and update my review if needed.

Cheers, and thank you for taking the time to comment.

    • I agree with Gareth. In addition, I’d say it’s not fair or reasonable to give Marcus a bad review and shamelessly promote another product.
Particularly if you have involvement with it.
Marcus takes great pains to explain some quite cutting edge techniques for affiliates.

You need to play fair and revisit your review.

      • Hi Nigel,

If affiliate marketing dude lived up to what he offers my review would have stated that. And I have revisited his site and nothing has changed.

And in looking at things I noticed a page of YouTube reviews he has. The last testimonial from one of his students was back in 2014.

If things he offers works so well, maybe it’s time to update that testimonial page with more up to date reviews. Maybe you can offer a testimonial of your success with affiliate marketing dude to bring a more recent testimonial to his review page.

And as for his training it’s far from cutting edge. His training and site have not been updated for years. Wealthy affiliate is updated on a regular basis. In fact, they just updated some of the core training to reflect what’s happening in online marketing right now.

And as for the cost – it’s ridiculous. No one needs to spend $1277 to have an affiliate website build. And it makes no difference what the price of the product your marketing is. Especially with all the web builders available nowadays.

Hell, wealthy affiliate has a free website builder. With 4 clicks you can have a website set up and ready to go.

My opinion of wealthy affiliate and I stand by it, is wealthy affiliate is a far superior with the training, support, tools and resources when it comes to the building your own affiliate marketing business than what affiliate marketing dude has to offer. And definitely costs a lot less than what dude is charging.

And as I said to Gareth I understand and appreciate you standing up for the affiliate marketing dude. Just like I stand behind wealthy affiliate. And so, there are times when people can agree to disagree. And this time we do disagree.

Cheers, and thank you for taking the time to comment.

  2. I wish I had found your review BEFORE spending the $77 for mentoring. I purchased it because people were lead to believe that you would receive 30 days of mentoring. Well, it’s been 11 days and only one live training so far. But at least it was just $77. LOL. thank you for your honest review – it was great as well as great info on free traffic. I may reach out with questions!

    • Hey Robin

Talking a big game when it comes to mentoring and then actually delivering on what he promises is definitely 2 different things.

And even though it was only $77 like you said, it’s still $77 you spent for something that has not lived up to what you were promised. Not cool at all.

I’m glad you liked the review and yep, if you have questions feel free to give me a buzz.

      Take care
